Fire has broke out in the office of the Director Cabinet, office of Secretary to the Government of the State at the State Secretariat Complex, Katsina.
This is contained in a statement signed by Abdullahi Aliyu Yar’Adua, the Dirctor Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the State.
The fire started around 1-30pm on Monday 6 April, 2020 after the Director, and other staff had closed their offices and went for Zuhr prayer at the Central Mosque of the Secretariat complex.
Firemen were immediately summoned and with the aid of security men and some of the staff around, the fire was extinguished within 30 minutes.
The prompt response of the State Fire Service and the effort of the good Samaritans made it possible to prevent it from escalating to other offices thereby confining the inferno within one office.
There is no cause for alarm as nobody was injured from the incident However, some equipment furniture and some working materials were razed by the fire.
Staff working under the only affected office who were also eye witness to the incident, have all attributed the fire out break to the incessant power surge which they had observed shortly before the incident.
