Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is an award-winning banker and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. He is currently the 14th Emir of Kano, a Fulani nobleman, and an Islamic scholar.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi Background

 Muhammadu Sanusi II, popularly known as Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, was born on the 31st of July, 1961, into the Fulani Torobe (Sullubawa) clan of Kano. His late father – Ambassador Aminu Sanusi, was a diplomat; the Nigerian Ambassador to Belgium, China, and Canada; and the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Sanusi attended primary school at St. Anne’s Catholic Primary School, Kakuri, Kaduna, from 1967 to 1972. Afterwards, he proceeded to King’s College, Lagos, for his secondary education, and graduated in 1977.

Thereafter, he got admission into Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria to study economics, and graduated in 1981, with a BSc in economics. Sanusi Lamido obtained his master’s degree in economics from the same school in 1983.
He also obtained a degree in Islamic law at the International University of Africa, Khartoum.

Sanusi Lamido Sanusi is married to Sadiya Ado Bayero, Rakiya Sanusi, Maryam Sanusi, and he is blessed with children.

 Sanusi Career
The banking guru was posted to Gongola State (now Adamawa, and Taraba States) for his one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). After his service year in 1985, Icon Limited – a subsidiary of Morgan Guaranty Trust and Barings Bank employed him as a banker.

He left in 1997 and joined the United Bank for Africa (UBA). He started working with UBA as a staff in the credit and risk-management department and grew to the general manager position.
Having attained a top management position at UBA, he left the bank to become a board member at First Bank of Nigeria. He was also an executive director in charge of risk and management control in September 2005.

In January 2009, Sanusi Lamido became the Group Managing Director (CEO) of First Bank of Nigeria, making him the first Northerner to take on the role of the CEO of First Bank. At the time he was appointed CEO of First Bank, Sanusi Lamido was also Chairman of Kakawa Discount House.

President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua nominated Sanusi Lamido as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, on the 1st of June 2009. The Nigerian Senate confirmed his appointment as CBN governor, on the 3rd of June 2009, during a global financial crisis. Sanusi Lamido is well-known for his contribution to a risk-management culture in the Nigerian banking industry.

 As Governor Of CBN

 In August 2009, Lamido Sanusi injected ₦400 billion of public funds to save Afribank, Intercontinental Bank, Union Bank, Oceanic Bank, and Finbank. He further dismissed the CEOs of the banks for mismanagement of funds and high level of non performing loans.

During his tenure as CBN governor, he carried out extensive reforms termed – Sanusi Tsunami. He carried out these reforms in a bid to overcome the vested interests attacking the Nigerian financial sector.

Sanusi Lamido’s blueprint for the reform in the banking sector is centred around four pillars, which include enhancing the quality of banks, establishing financial stability, enabling healthy financial sector evolution, and ensuring that the financial sector contributes to the real economy.

As regards Sharia authority, the banker turned traditional ruler, believes Islam should only bring justice to people and should not be used for selfish political agendas.

 As Emir Of Kano
On the 8th of June 2014, Sanusi Lamido was selected to succeed his granduncle – Ado Bayero, as the Emir of Kano, and was crowned Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II on the 9th of June 2014.

As such, he became the 14th Emir of Kano, and leader of the Tijaniyya Sufi order – this is the second most important Muslim position in Nigeria, after the leader of the larger Qadiriyya Sufi order, held by the Sultan of Sokoto.

The Governor of Kano State – Abdullahi Ganduje, weakened Sanusi Lamido’s powers as the Emir of Kano state on the 8th of May 2019, by creating four new Emirates. The new Emirates were created for Gaya, Bichi, Karaye, and Rano. As such, the Emir of Kano will oversee only 10 Local Government Areas, out of the 44 LGA’s in the state.

[Biography] Remembering Late Katsina Emir Muhammadu Kabir Usman 12 years after (Full Biography)

Alhaji Dr. Muhammadu Kabir Usman (January 1928 – 8 March 2008) was the 49th Emir of Katsina from 18 March 1981, until his death in March 2008.

He was the tenth Fulani emir, as well as the third emir from the Sullubawa dynasty. He succeeded his father Usman Nagogo, and was succeeded by his son, the current emir Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.

Early life and education

Kabir was born in January 1928 to the then emir’ssonUsman Nagogoand his wife Aminatu. He was named by Sherif Gudid, anArabcleric, who was a friend of Nagogo.

At an early age, Kabir was enrolled into a Qur’anic school situated within the palace, which was then headed by an Arab scholar, Mohammed Abdullahi, believed to have been hired purposely for that by his grandfather, EmirMuhammadu Dikko. A little later, Kabir moved to further his Quranic studies at Tsamiya, a place in Katsina near the palace.

In 1942, at the age of 14, Kabir was admitted into the Katsina Middle School, with 52 others, from across the then Katsina Province. On completion in 1947, he joined the Katsina Native Authority Police and was sent to the Nigeria Police College,Kaduna for a one-year training.

Career and Politics

Kabir was promoted to Lance Corporal and appointed Wakilin Doka, the Katsina native authority Police chief in 1951 by his father, who had become emir in 1944.

In 1953, Kabir went to Lagos for a Criminal Investigation course, and later went to the Police College, London for a similar course. In 1957, he was made the native authority councilor in charge of police, prison andthe department of urban water supply.

Kabir worked effectively as Police chief, handling one of the delicate police work that arose as a result of a Northern elements progressive union (NEPU) inspired revolt of Sambon Barka in the southern part of the Katsina emirate. He was also made acting Magajin Gari in 1957. He served a memberof the boards of many schools and the Gaskiya Corporation, based in Zaria.

In 1963, Kabir was confirmed as Magajin Gari, the district head of Katsina metropolis, a title held previously by his father when his grandfather wasemir. The same year, Kabir was elected as a member of the House of Assembly, Kaduna.

He became a parliamentary secretary in the premierAhmadu Bello’s office in Kaduna in 1965. After the Military coup in 1966, Kabir returned to Katsina and continued to serve as Magajin Gari.

Being the Magajin Gari made Kabir very close to his father, he accompanied Nagogo to national conferences and meetings, and sometimes representing him in functions. Kabir also accompanied his father on international visits.

On 18 March 1981, Usman Nagogo died, and the Katsina king-makers chose Kabir to succeed him,being close to his father as magajin Gari, and being his second eldest son (the eldest, Ibrahim Ladan-fari having predeceased Nagogo). The then Governor of Kaduna State, which Katsina was part of then, Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa, refused to approve the choice.

This led to a deadlock that lasted until the Governor was impeached by the State house of assembly in June 1981. Balarabe Musa’s successor, Abba Musa Rimi, later approved and Kabir was Turbaned at Katsina’s Kangiwa square.

Reign

Kabir’s reign was characterized by his down to earth nature.

Kabir was well educated and knew the Qur’an well, he was therefore considered bothas an emir and an Islamic scholar, and was known to have written whole copies of the Qur’an with his hand.

Kabir was known by the epithet “Limamin Sarakuna dan Shehu” (The imam of emirs, the son of Shehu). Kabir also created new districts in the emirate during his reign.

One of the highlights of Kabir’s reign was the creation of Katsina State, comprising Katsina and Dauraemirates, out of the thenKaduna State.

Kabir also demolished the famous Masallacin Dutsi, which was built by his grandfatherMuhammadu Dikkoin 1935, and constructed the Katsina central mosque which is still in use today.

Like his father and grandfather, Kabir was aPoloenthusiast, having started playing when he was a teenager, and playing well into his sixties.

He became the life President of the Nigerian Polo association, and the Emir of Katsina charity shield tournament was held in his honor. Kabir preached peace and tolerance, and always preached to his subjects to live in peace, he also always tried to remind them of life after death, and God’s final judgement.

He also received honorary doctorate degrees from theUniversity of Benin, and theObafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife, where he served as Chancellor.

 Death and Succession

As he advanced in age, Kabir became frequently ill, and was often flown out of Nigeria for medical check-ups and treatments.

His illness rendered him unable to perform the customary traditional Durbar on the two Eid festivals of 2007.

Kabir’s illness intensified and he died on 8 March 2008 at the age of eighty, he was survived by 3 wives and many children.

Kabir was succeeded that same month by his eldest son, Abdulmuminwho had served as Magajin Gari.

Assembly. She served under the Senate Committee on Aviation and

She worked as Operations Manager at Pinnacle Travels and Tours Ltd
(a Nigerian travel agency) between 2001 - 2003 before joining the
National Assembly Service Commission[4] as an Administrative Officer
II in 2003 where she rose to the Position of Principal Administrative
Officer before leaving the commission in 2010 to pursue her political
ambitions.
She became the National treasurer of the CPC, from 2011 - 2013, and
then Interim National Treasurer of the APC from 2013-2014 before her
appointment as Member, All Progressives Congress Presidential
Campaign Council where she served in the directorates of election
planning and monitoring, field operations, and fund raising, in
preparation for the 2015 general elections which the APC won.

The crew consist of two artistes PJ Show_NBL and Sam Sylva. They recorded their first song I CRYin SURGE RECORDS Entertainment in Port Harcourt, and most of their other songs in Lagos City by Jerry Rowland (J Sounds Record) . They both worked together for years, and recorded few songs together, with the likes of; CHOW, PARTY IN THE CLUB, OWO, CECILIA, OH LORD HELP ME, I CRY, FINE LADY, DON’T CARE, REASON, Etc which make few waves.
MUSICAL CAREER:
Early 2015 PJ Show_NBL broke out of the crew (PS – CUBE) to stand on his own. PJ Show_NBL dropped his first single Pause and Rewind (January 2015) produced by DonBaz which fully brought him to the limelight.
Few months later PJ Show_NBL had already been doing well in the industry, then he dropped his second single title Mujo produced by Hotice Exclüsive.

[Biography] Mc MOMO



Background
Sunday Mark , popularly known as Mc Momoh, is a renowned Musician and comedian, who hailed from EMODU town of Olamaboro Local government area in Kogi State. He was born in the mid 1980s and bred in the Northwestern part of Nigeria; kano precisely. Sunday Mark is the Eldest son born to Mr. Mark Momoh Jonah and Mrs. Christiana Mark. He has four brothers and a sister: Onuche, Ojoma(Esther), UgbedeOjo(ThankGod), Omachoko, and Enemaye(Godwin) Mark. He attended IRS Staff Model primary school and started his senior secondary school at GSSS Chiromawa but did and completed it at Ofabo Community School of Ofu local government area of Kogi state when he traveled to stay with his grandparents.

In 2004, he returned to Kano after his fifth year stay at home. There with his parents He proceeded to attain a National College of Education Certificate in Social studies from the year 2006 to 2010. At this time he came across different people who helped mold his life into what he has become now.


Musical Background.
Mc momoh love and started music since when he was teenager. Everything started in the Sunday school where his teachers taught him children Christian songs before every lesson, at ECWA church Kadawa. When he graduated from the Sunday school, he joined the Church Musical band called the Gospel Band, with other fellows: Sunday Gabriel, Shehu Madaki, Isah Madaki, Sunday Layi Cham, Onuche Mark, Shiyin, Mercy, Regina, Katlung, Plang, and many others. By 2008 Mc momoh and St.Onu, joined by Augustine Paul aka coolp, began music with stage name as De-banners. They performed in many live concerts. Sule Daniel joined them later before the release of their first Musical Album titled "Mu girmama shi"(Let's Honor Him) on the 7th of February, 2010. The groups second album was launched on the 4th of April, 2012.
Mc momoh enjoys singing Pam Mondays songs and other times enjoyed high life and reggae. He used to be fund of Makosa, but lately, he also patronises hip hop music.
Because of his music carrier and comedy, he has presented in countless marriages and other ceremonies and have come across popular artists and actors, like Friday Jibo, Solomon Damulak, Jeremiah Gyan, Pam Monday, Emeka Ike, and many others and shared stage with comedians like St. Moscow, Mc pajay. St. Mathew mentalcase omoba and many more from the northern network.


Drama
Apart from music, Mc momoh is also talented in acting. He was member of the De Elders Drama Ministry and was futures in one of their movie,   "please help ", the same year they released their second musical album.
Comedy:
Mc momoh started comedy nearly the same time with his gift of singing not untill 2008 when it started to become manifest.
He started as program leader in his church and tried being the master of the occasion in one of the church harvest and Thanksgiving. People loved his jokes and the way he graces every occasion with his hilarious dance steps. From just an ordinary program leader, he began to feature in wedding ceremonies; and very often the church called him to come and perform on that same stage his comedy carrier began. He loved watching night of a thousand laugh where popular comedians like Basket Mouth, Klint the Drunk, I go die and others performed.
He Mastered an occasion in a program organised by Central Bank of Nigeria, and other programs. He is a comedy.
Work
Sunday has worked as a teacher in Best College Naibawa, Kumbotso local government area of Kano state, stary crown, Beraka international school from the year 2009 to 2013 and is currently working as a staff of LAPO microfinance Bank.
Aspirations
Mc momoh wishes to become one of the big names in the entertainment industry and the gospel music scene that he might be able to encourage young talents to becoming useful people in the society.
